Findings

Before doing this project, I had a mindset that the results would show in implication that the more hours students worked per week, the lower their grades would be. However, the results is the opposite. When we analyse both indicators by year of school, we can see that from first year to third year, students work lesser hours, however their grades also become lower. When breaking down by gender, female students work more hours than male students on average, however their grades are higher.

If we look at the first chart which show the answers of all respondents, there is no correlation between grades and working hours per week if the working hours is less than 25. From 25 and above, the grades tends to become lower along with the more hours working per week.

Reflection

This project is an information gathering project. In order to do this, I need to embed a Google Form on my portfolio, so my classmates and other people can answer my form. The collected data must be something that can be analyzed because chart and table representations of the information gathered will be needed to be posted on my portfolio. Along with the charts and table representations, an explanation of collected information will be needed (which I posted above).

The information gathered is feed into a spreadsheet. In this spreadsheet, I use spreadsheet functions to sort and analyze the information and this information will automatically be updated as new results come in to my Google Form.

Through out this project, I learned many new things. The most important one is using new functions in the spreadsheet: finding the variable which appears most times, counting the times a string of text appears. I also reinforced many old skills: using count and average functions, creating google forms, creating charts and visualizations,…
