1) What is a brief description of the project?

This project is a presentation making project for an introduction to a place. Our group – me, Kevin and Jacky chose Taiwan for this presentation. We created a very brief introduction about Taiwanese culture, traditions and language. Each member of the group recorded his/her part of narrative in the slideshow.

2) What was I supposed to do for the project?

Students are required to design and construct a basic presentation of slides with recorded and attached spoken words, from 6 to 8 minutes. Each member in a group has to record their spoken language on one slide each. The TED Talks analysis helps us to construct slides that effectively supported our presentation. The presentation for this project needs to made with PowerPoint or Keynote and needs to follow the basic design rules and the additional requirements that are posted on the Resources page.

3) What skills did I use to accomplish this project?

I used various skills to accomplish this project. First, I created a slideshow using Microsoft Powerpoint, building content and editing. Second, I recorded timing slides and set it as autoplay file. Third, I exported the pptx file as a mp4 file (video) and upload it to my Youtube channel. Finally, I embeded that video to my portfolio page and attached the link to download the ppsx file below it.

4) What new skills did I learn or old skills did I reinforce through this project?

Through this project, I am able to reinforce many old skills such as creating a slideshow using Microsoft PowerPoint, saving it as ppsx format, inserting graphics, setting transitions and animations. What I also practice are exporting files and uploading video to youtube. There are also many new skills that I learnt, for example record timing and embedding a video to portfolio page.

5) What steps did I take in order to post this project here?

Step one: Create a slideshow using Microsoft PowerPoint, complete content and visual effect

Step two: Record timing

Step three: Save as autoplay file (.ppsx format)

Step four: Export file as .mp4 format

Step five: Upload video to youtube and PowerPoint file to Google Drive
